30 Things to Teach Your Son

Teach them at an early age and you can have a gentleman in the making.

We just found out that we are going to have a baby.

“It’s a boy!”

And immediately, all the wonderful, both practical & emotional, essential life skills that I will need to teach him flashed before my eyes. Parenting expert Dr. Meg Meeker says we should parent our boys with an image in our minds of what we want them to be like at age 25.

I recollected the times when I did not speak up when I should have, when I made a mistake that I did not admit, when I missed an opportunity to be good to others, and when I behaved opposite to what a true gentleman would have. And I do not want my son to repeat them.

There are so many things that I simply can’t wait to teach my son, so I’ve compiled them into a list of 30 things.

Play with passion or don’t play at all

There is no point doing something just for the sake of it

When entrusted with a secret, keep it

Invest even when you think you do not have enough

Return a borrowed car with a full tank of gas
